Summer of Brass

LYB start busy summer schedule

The Lions Youth Brass organisation head into their traditionally busy summer period now, with many venues waiting to play host to the organisation's three bands. This concert-filled half term started with the band raising the roof at St Marys Church in Nantwich, on 4th June.

Other concerts to look forward to include all three bands performing at the Love Music Trust Celebration Concert, which takes place at the charming Clonter Opera on the 25th June. The following Sunday sees all three bands head to Congleton Park to play on the picturesque band stand for a very 'British' afternoon of a band in the park, sun and ice cream!

On Tuesday 5th July, our Beginner Band are the headline act at Goostrey Community Primary School, where they will play alongside the school's own Year 5 Wider Opps ensemble. The Juniors, meanwhile, will be heading off to Whiston to take part in the contest their, a contest which they boast a formidable record in. As if all that wasn't enough, you'll still get chance to hear all three bands at Kings School, Macclesfield (July 16th) before we celebrate another fabulous academic year at our 'Awards Concert,' which takes place at Winsford Academy on Sunday 17th July at 6 o'clock.

That's a lot of Lions... and we've not even mentioned the Youth Band's annual summer tour!

We look forward to seeing you at one of our gigs!
