3 LYB Bands wow the audience in Crewe

All 3 Lions bands were in action on Saturday 8th October in the spectacular Union Street Church in Crewe.

In a slight change to our usual programming the Youth Band opened the night's proceedings. Altering the programme in this way means that the Beginners and Juniors get the chance to hear the Youth Band in action, something that isn't always possible due to the later night that a concert can mean for our young players.

All three bands were once again on good form, and all three added newer items to their programme; the Youth Band debuted two soloists (Suzanna and Callum) on Bass and Bass Trombone respectively and ended their first spot with the groovy 'Funk It Up.' Meanwhile the Beginners added music from the Elizabethan court with 'La Volta,' whilst the Juniors stayed in our own time with Meghan Trainor's 'All About That Bass!'

Finally, Nigel handed out awards to 14 of our players who have notched up 5 or 8 years service to Lions Youth Brass. As tutor Charlotte said, 'once you join Lions, you're in it for the long haul!'
