Young Lions shine at Fodens Competition!
Sunday October 29th saw several members of LYB participate in the annual Fodens Band Slow Melody competition. Young cornet sensation Hannah Taylor added another trophy to her already full cabinet by being awarded 2nd place in the 12 - 13 Year Old section, with Bethany Harby achieving 4th in the same section. Later the two girls joined forces to compete in the 12-16 Year Duets section, achieving a sensational 2nd place!
Finally, in the 12-16 year old Quartets section our very own 'Purple Ladies' - Tasha Brett, Emily Gibson, Abbie Webb and Daya Gill, above - won first place and were awarded the Foden's Annual Award for their performance. They are building quite a reputation as a foursome, adding another first place to the victory they picked up at Colne Valley. Youth Band conductor, Nigel Birch, has prepared the girls in the build up to the performance and afterwards he spoke about 'how great it was to work with them again(sic).'
Well done to all our young Lions who took part!
